Pump installation and commissioning

Install the pump as part of the hydraulic and electrical system. The exact equipment manual and project define permissible positions, limits and the start-up sequence.

Mechanical installation

Check foundation or supports, fixing, pipe loads and maintenance access. Align a separately coupled pump and motor as specified; recheck after pipework is connected. Prevent the installation from introducing strain into the pump casing.

Filling and hydraulic readiness

Confirm the approved valve positions, clean strainers, fill and vent the applicable pump and circuit. Check liquid level and suction conditions. Self-priming capability does not mean unrestricted dry operation; the required initial filling is construction-specific.

Electrical and control readiness

Qualified personnel verify supply, protective earthing, motor protection, rotation, sensors and interlocks under the equipment instructions. Test stopping and alarms before automatic duty. Isolate energy before opening guards or accessing rotating or live parts.

Record the first operating baseline

Record measured flow, inlet and outlet pressures with tap elevations, speed, motor current or power, temperature, leakage and vibration. Compare with the approved duty and limits. A successful start is not proof that the required flow or protection scenario works.
