Submersible pumps

Submerged installation describes where the hydraulic part or complete pump set operates. It does not automatically establish suitability for sewage or abrasive solids.

Hydraulic part and motor

A submerged hydraulic assembly can be driven by a motor above the liquid through a shaft. A submersible motor pump immerses the motor as well. Motor sealing and cooling requirements therefore belong to the exact installation type.

Water level and inlet

Minimum submergence must support cooling and avoid air entrainment at the inlet. Confirm the lowest running level, stopping level, tank geometry and inlet approach. A low-level switch and a dry-running limit address different parts of the protection.

Submersible pumps and wastewater

Drainage water, borehole water and sewage have different solids and contamination conditions. Choose the hydraulic passage and materials for the actual liquid; a narrow borehole pump and a sewage pump are not interchangeable simply because both are submerged.

Lifting and retrieval

Plan a rated lifting point, accessible guide or mounting arrangement, cable protection and disconnection for retrieval. The power cable is not a lifting device. Record immersion depth, cable length and the complete protection and control requirements.
